Bumper Boats? We’re working on it!
Many of you have asked us when our bumper boats will be open. Here is the scoop.
Last summer Bounce Magic submitted blue prints to the Town of Orchard Park. We have awesome plans! After receiving a stamped Building Permit authorizing the work, we completed stage one of our expansion. Now the Building Inspector and Fire Inspector have changed their minds! They said they should not have approved the work. WHAT??? They want BM to install a full sprinkler system and a fire wall. We have to do the work so we can continue to provide a fun, safe place for the families of WNY or they may shut us down. They are attempting to blame the architect, BUT who approved the blue prints??? The point…until the work is completed, the Building Inspector for the Town of Orchard Park is holding our Bumper Boats hostage. This is unfair to you and unfair to Bounce Magic! They made a `mistake ‘ and we have to pay, literally! Just thought you should know….

Girl Scouts

Friday evening found Bounce Magic host to approxamately 160 Girl Scouts, ages 12 to 16, along with their Leaders and moms.
The Scouts were there to have fun and learn about Public Relations and what that line of work involves. My dad used to say ” If you’re going to do something, do it right the first time. Because of… that I learned to `sweat the small stuff’, to cross every T, to leave no stone unturned.
After 4 weeks of planning, organizing and brainstorming with Senior Girl Scout troop 30077, I was pretty confident that we had the ultimate evening planned, `The Amazing Race to the Gold’. Twelve teams set out to conquer five different task and defeat a couple of roadblocks along the way, while collecting pieces for their press kits. Everything was going along smoothly, like butter on a hot ear of corn, but it would appear that someone invited Ms. Murphy to dinner and The Burger King went missing! The BK was the first of 10 scavenger hunt character recognition pictures and it, along with the next clue, was no longer where it was supposed to be.As I looked up, 60 or so girls were headed my way looking very confused.
Now, I’m not sure if it was one of the evening’s last customers, or a Girl Scout trying to get an advantage over the others, and at one point I even thought one of the employees was just doing an exceptionally thorough job (now who was confused?) but before the BK was located taped inside the baby changing station, (thank you Annette for setting him free) things temporarily came to a screeeeeeeeching halt. Note to self – tape it to the ceiling next time.I hope everyone had a great time and a BIG Thank You to everyone who helped out and to all the Scouts who participated. I’m looking forward to our next Scouting event – 1 down, 6 more to go!
